Lahiri fires 69 for sole lead at LG Jaypee Open Amateur

Noida, July 31 (UNI) India's number one amateur Anirban Lahiri fired an opening round 69 to take sole lead at the LG Jaypee Open Amateur Golf Championship, which commenced at the par-72 Jaypee Greens, here today.

Abhishek Jha was placed second at level par 72, while the duo of HS Kang and Lt. Col SK Lakra were tied third at one over 73. Fourteen-year-old Kapil Kumar, with a card of 74, shared the fifth place with Manav Das, Ajeetesh Sandhu, K Prabagaran and Amit Nigam.

Meanwhile, former India Test cricketer Ajay Jadeja brought in a card of 87 in his first tournament as an amateur.
