Kuznetsova demolishes Australian Adamczak

MELBOURNE, Jan 17 (Reuters) Russian third seed Svetlana Kuznetsova crushed Australia's Monique Adamczak 6-2 6-1 to reach the Australian Open third round today.

The 2004 US Open champion showed a few signs of the breathing problems that forced her out of the Sydney warmup tournament last week, but she still accounted for her second home wildcard this week in exactly one hour on Rod Laver Arena.

Kuznetsova, who beat home hope Jessica Moore for the loss of five games in the first round, is seeking to improve upon her Melbourne Park best of reaching the quarter-finals in 2005.

The win set up a potential third-round match against fellow Russian and 26th seed Maria Kirilenko.
