K'taka sets 2 records in relay,Goa's Vasta clinch gold in diving
Panaji, Jan 9 (UNI) The Karnataka quartet kept their reputation intact as they coasted comfortable victories in the 4x100 m free style relay under-19 boys and girls respectively in the 52nd National school acquatic championship in progress at swimming complex campal here today.
Boys quartet of Sandeep, Aditya, Arun and Rohit returned with a new meet record with a timing of 03:52:15 improving their own record set in 2005. In girls event, Kshipra, Meghana, Tejaswini and Pooja also returned with a new meet record with a timing of 04:20:28 to clinch the gold. Their previous record of 04:27:85 was set in 2005.
Karnataka's Shivraj Mohite also claimed gold medal in the 3 meters spring Board boys U-19 diving events with 345.10 points, Delhi had to content with silver with 322.65 points.
Goa's Sushmita Vast clinched the gold in three meters Spring board in the girls under 19 in the Diving with 292.50 points.
Maharastra with 298 points and Karnataka with 263.80 finished second and third respectively.
While in the High board Diving, Maharastra Pruthiras Bavi(Boys) with 235.45 points and Swati Venkatesh Vidap (girls) with 202.15 points clinch both Under-14 boys and girls gold medals respectively.
While in water polo, Delhi Beat Karnataka by 7-3, Manipur beat Haryana 8-3, Bengal Beat Gujarat 5-1, Kerala beat Maharastra 8-3 and Punjab bt Delhi 5-2.
