Kottayam district retains overall champion titles

Kochi, Nov 2 (UNI) Kottayam district retained the overall championship titles in both senior and junior sections of the 52nd Kerala State Senior and Junior Athletics Championships at the Maharaja's College Stadium here.

In the senior section, Kottayam topped the list with 226 points followed by Ernakulam district 128 points and Palakkad district 116 points.

Kottayam district amassed 451 points to retain the championship in the junior section, while Palakkad district with 348 points and Ernakulam district with 338 points taking the second and third spots respectively.

More than 1,600 athletes from 14 districts participated in the three-day competition.
