Khalsa School, Malwa, qualify for super league in style

New Delhi, Oct 25 (UNI) Khalsa School, Malwa (Ludhiana), made their entry into the super league in style thrashing Merhuliespa School, Kohima, 12-1 in the 25th Nehru Sub Junior hockey tournament here today.

Khalsa boys toyed with their rivals in a match which turned out to be a no contest and led 7-0 at half time.

Kohima school lacked wherewithal to tackle their rampaging rivals and caved in without much resistance.

For the winners, Satbir Singh, Gagandeep singh (three each), Kulbir Singh, Ranjit Singh (two each), Karanveer Singh, Simran Singh (one each) were the scorers. Pusato Angami was the lone goal getter for the Kohima school.

In an inconsequential match, Chotu Ram Zamindar (CRZ) School, Sonepat, routed Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai, 8-1.

The all-Haryana affair turned out to be a totally one sided as CRZ led 4-1 at the breather.

Deepak (three), Amit Kumar and Rajesh (two each) and Vikas (one) scored for CRZ while Amit reduced the margin for the losers.
