Kerala, Delhi win gold in water polo
Guwahati, Feb 16 (UNI) Kerala and Delhi clinched the Gold in the men's and women's water polo respectively at the 33rd National Games here today.
Delhi defeated Kerala in the women's finals in a closely fought match by 9-7.
The Bronze in the event was won by Maharashtra yesterday.
In today's match, Biji Devi was the leading scorer for Delhi, with five goals.
Smita Gawhane struck twice, while one goal each was scored by Bindya Devi and Purnima Pal.
For Kerala, B Praveena struck thrice, with C Archa scored two goals. K S Soumya and T K Prajitha scored one goal each.
In the men's final, Kerala bet Services team by a margin of 10-7.
Kerala's S Vinod and S L Gopakumar scored three goals each. One goal each was scored by N Gopakumar, A G Vijaykumar, V D Srivisak and Jith Mohan.
For the Silver medallist's, Sree Kumar and Shaon Das struck thrice. One goal was scored by Martin Jospeh.
The Bronze in men's water polo went to Bengal.
