Kerala, AP win gold

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 10 (UNI) Hosts Kerala and Andhra Pradesh won the first two gold decided in the National Mountain Bike Cycling Championship, which began at the Pallipuram CRPF Camp, near here today.

While Kerala girls won all the medals in the girls Under-15 mass start category, Andhra Pradesh won the gold and silver in the boys section in the same category.

Kerala girl V J Parvathy won the gold, while her teammates Vinaya Vijayanand and Kesia Varghese pocketed the silver and bronze respectively.

In the boys section, J Nishad Kumar and K P D Hegde Reddy of Andhra won the gold and silver respectively. Punjab's Amarnath Singh satisifed with the bronze.

Earlier, CRPF DIG P V Gopinathan inaugurated the meet.
