Katnoria, Vrushali to lead state teams in carrom Nationals

Mumbai, Dec 26 (UNI) The state champions Sukhbir Singh Katnoria (Pune District) and Vrushali Patil of Nasik will be leading state carrom boys and girls teams respectively in the 36th Junior National and Inter-State Carrom Championship, which will be held at Coimbatore from December 30, 2007 to January 4, 2008.

Krishnakant Parkar of Raigad District has been nominated as the Manager of boys and girls team, while Chandrakant Pingle of Raigad District will be the coach, Maharashtra Carrom Association Assistant Secretary Janardhan V Sangam stated in a release issued here today.

This six-day championship will be played on 32 nos. Precice Elegant Championship Carrom boards with Ashwin Carrommen, the release added.

Maharashtra Teams are as follows: Boys: Sukhbir Singh Katnoria-Captain (Pune), Nikul Kakde (Pune), Prashant More (Mumbai), Rahul Solanki (Mumbai), Abhishek Chavan (Ratnagiri), Qureshi Mushtaq Mohd (Mumbai Sub.).

Caoch: Chandrakant Pingle.

Manager: Krishnakant Parkar.

Girls: Vrushali Patil-Captain (Nasik), Priyanka Pingle (Raigad), Maitreyee Gogte (Ratnagiri), Sidhi Modi (Mumbai), Vishkha Pagare (Nasik), Monali Dhotre (Nasik).

Youth Boy's Singles: Hidayat Ansari (Mumbai sub.), Suleman Shaikh (Pune).

Youth Girl's Singles: Mayuri Pingle (Raigad).

Umpires: Sanjay Nadkarni (Pune), Parvinder Singh (Mumbai).
