Kashyap likely to replace Chetan
Hyderabad, May 8 (UNI) Promising youngster and National Games gold medalist P Kashyap is likely to replace National Badminton Champion Chetan Anand for three tournaments, including the prestigious Sudhirman Cup.
The 'trio' of Chetan Anand, Gutta Jwala and Shruti Kurien had decided to skip the three-day selection trials for the tournaments conducted at SAAP Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli.
The selection committee scheduled to meet at 1100 hrs tomorrow in Mumbai was likely to pick Kashyap of Andhra Pradesh in place of Chetan, according to reliable sources.
The ten-member team will represent India in Sudirman Cup, Thailand Open and the Philippines Open in the coming days.
The 'rebel' trio is still seeking assurance from the Badminton Association of India for forwarding their entries to the super series in the coming days.
Speaking to mediamen, Chetan said, ''not just our entries, we want every Indian entry to be forwarded. Once they give this assurance, we will join the camp.'' UNI
