Kashmir Uzma invitational golf tourney begins

Srinagar, Sep 12 (UNI) About 100 golfers from across the country are vying for top honours in the two-day Kashmir Uzma invitational golf tournament which began here today.

Minister of State for Tourism Mohammad Dilawar Mir teed off the tournament this morning.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, the Principal Secretary to the Punjab Government, Additional Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Rajinder Tikoo, bureaucrat B R Singh were some of the prominent golfers taking part in the event.

The championship is being played at the picturesque Royal Springs Golf Course (RSGC) on the banks of world famous Dal Lake and on the foothills of Zabarwan range.
