Kashmir University host Kayaking and Canoeing championship

Srinagar, Nov 2 (UNI) About 450 players and officials were expected to participate in the four day long All India Inter-University Kayaking and Canoeing Championship 2007, at the picturesque Nageen Lake here from 10th Novermber.

The championship is being organised by the Kashmir University under the auspices of the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.

This is after seven years the University is organizing such a major water based activity in the valley.

The University has recently procured 24 Kayaks and Canoes with its accessories and nearly Rs 12 lacs have been spent on this ambitious project. The C4 (Canoe4) boats have also been purchased, which will be introduced in the Inter-University Championship for the first time.

UNI
