Karnataka enters in semi final
Rajkot, Jan 13 (UNI) Karnataka today entered the semi-finals by virtue of their first innings lead after their Super League 'A' Ranji Match against Saurashtra ended in a draw at the Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Ground here.
Karnaraka garnered two points from the match, taking their point tally to 17, equal to Baroda's points.
The highlight of the match was the unbeaten century by Karnataka opener R Barrington in the second innings after Saurashtra's Ist innings folded up at 354 runs, adding just two runs to their overnight score of 354 for eight.
Rakesh Dhruve from Saurashtra did not bat today because his little finger was fractured.
Karnataka, who gained 216 runs lead over Saurashtra, did not enforce the follow-on and decided to bat again.
R Barrington hit eight fours on his way to the coveted mark in 199 balls.
Robin Uthappa, who was selected for the first two ODIs, scored 23 runs in the second innings before falling victim to the bowling of K Vaghela.
C Raghu also chipped in with a valuable 66 in which he smashed three fours and one six.
Karnataka made 249 for three, before umpires and both captains agreed to call it a day before the start of the mandatory overs.
