Kapur still going strong at Wentworth; Jyoti, Jeev falters

Surrey, England, May 26 (UNI) Shiv Kapur slipped from tied third to tied fifth spot but kept the Tri-colour fluttering with a one-under 71, while his more accomplished compatriots lost ground at the end of the second round of the BMW PGA Championship.

Kapur began and finished with successive birdies but a double-bogey on the 15th hole dashed his chances of topping the leaderboard, occupied jointly by Argentine Angel Cabrera and Britain's Justin Rose.

Kapur, who finished way down the order last week in Irish Open, looked in good nick to lift a European Tour title, reeling off five birdies in all against two bogeys and a double-bogey at the Wentworth Club.

Ace golfer Jyoti Randhawa squandered the early advantage by carding a dismal three-over 75 to tumble from shared seventh spot to tied 27th.

Jyoti dropped more shots than he gained, coming up with a double bogey and faltering four times against three birdies.

Jeev Milkha Singh, the highest ranked Indian golfer, however, was tied at 60th after firing in five birides and two bogeys.

Atop the charts Justin Rose and Angel Cabrera enjoyed a two-stroke buffer, with identaical eight-under 136s.
