Kapur at tied 21st in European Masters

Crans Montana, Switzerland, Sep 5 (UNI) Shiv Kapur fired a creditable two under 69 to take the tied 21st spot after round one of the Omega European Masters (European Tour) here.

The Indian pro had a good start, hitting a birdie on the first hole. He went on to have a good front nine with two more birdies with a bogey on the eighth being the only blemish.

However, a couple of bogeys on the back nine let Kapur down.

Among the other Indians in the fray, Gaurav Ghei and Digvijay Singh shot rounds of two over 73 to be at tied 106th.

Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland leads the field at eight under 63.
