Kamran to meet Venkat in AITA final

Kolkata, May 31 (UNI) Seventh seed Kamran Ali created another upset today as he defeated third seed Suraj Hariani of MP 4-2,4-0 to reach the Boys' Singles under 12 final at the DKS' AITA Talent series Tennis championship.

He will now meet sixth seed Tamil Nadu's Venkat Ramanan.

Ramanan beat eighth seed Nishant Rebello (AP) 1-4,5-4(7-3),5-3.

In U-14 Boys' singles, the final showdown is between top seed Nihal Singh of Bihar and unseeded Shreedhar Gaggar.

Nihal defeated third seed Prateek Singh of Orissa 4-6,6-1,6-0.

In the other semis Shreedhar Gaggar beat Md Azhar 4-6,6-3,6-4.

Top seed Srijita Ghosh kept on course for the title when she beat Shiuli Dasgupta 4-2,4-2 in the first semis of the Girls' Singles under 12.

The second semis saw second seed Adrita Banerjee defeating fourth seeded Monalisa Chakraborty of Jharkhand 4-1,4-0.

In the Girls' Singles under 14, top seed Mandovi Mullick took care of fourth seed Sabrina Sayed 6-2,6-2. Srijita can win a double crown if she manages to beat Mandovi in the finals tomorrow.

In the semi second seed Srijita beat third seed Angana Mukherjee 6-1,7-6(7-3).

Venkat Ramanan and Shreedhar Gaggar are also on course for a double crown.

After Reaching the finals of the Boys' Singles under 12&14, respectively.

Ramanan is also in the finals of the Boys' Doubles Under 12, while Gaggar will play the finals of the Boys' Singles Under 14.

The finals will be played tomorrow.
