Jyoti, Shiv to play AIS Golf Open

New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI) Ace golfers Jyoti Randhawa and Shiv Kapur will lead the star-studded field at the Rs 60 lakh AIS Golf Open to be teed off at the scenic Delhi Golf Course on April 5.

Current PGTI Order of Merit leader Ashok Kumar heads into the tournament with three back-to-back victories on the tour but will have to face off stiff competition from, among others, ever-consistent SSP Chowrasia.

Mercuries Taiwan Masters winner Gaurav Ghei, Harmeet Kahlon, Singapore's Lam Chih Bing, Mukesh Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Richard Blackwell and Digvijay Singh are just some of the professionals who have already confirmed their participation for the tournament.

India's second highest ranked golfer, Randhawa has some fond memories of the Delhi Golf course as he triumphed at the prestigious Indian Open here last year.

''I won the Indian Open at the Delhi Golf course last year, so I have happy memories of the course and am looking forward to teeing it up there once again as the AIS Golf Open is one of the biggest tournaments on our tour,'' he said.

The Pros will slug it out among themselves for a fat winner's cheque of Rs 9.72 lakh.
