Jammu, Jan 11 (UNI) International and national fencers of Jammu and Kashmir were today felicitated here by the state Amateur Fencing association for their performance in the senior national tournament held at Trivandrum, Kerala.

A function was organized to honours the fencers for bringing five medals including two-silver and three bronze medals and claiming overall third position in the Senior National category.

Upcoming international fencers Ujjawal Gupta and Rashid Ahmed won silver and bronze medals in individual sabre event respectively while Maninder Pal, Ajit Singh, Rashid Ahmed and Ujjawal Gupta won the silver medal in team event.

In men's individual event, Sanjeev Suri claimed bronze medal whereas in women category, Shivani Hans bagged bronze medal in sabre individual event.

The Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Fencing Association in collaboration with state sports council lauded the fencers and announced better facilities and infrastructure to groom the spot.
