Jeev miss the cut again, Chopra climbs to tied 30th

Irving, Texas, Apr 28 (UNI) Three consecutive birdies from the fifth hole was not enough to save the day for Jeev Milkha Singh as the off-colour Indian missed the halfway cut to crash out of the 6,300,000 dollar Byron Nelson Championship here.

Although Jeev carded a decent even-par 70 in the second round, his opening day five-over 75 proved too costly to make up, and in the process knocked him of from weekend action.

The first Indian to play and make the cut at Augusta Masters earlier this month, Jeev mixed the three birdies, all coming on the front nine with as many bogeys to aggregate five-over 145 in two rounds.

In contrast, India-born Swede Daniel Chopra came up with a vastly improved show -- a four-under 66 performance to climb up to tied 30th spot from tied 102nd.

Jeev, who is ranked 51st in the world now, missed his second successive cut after he failed to advance at Verizon Heritage Classic two weeks back.

Atop the leaderboard, Britain's Luke Donald fired a four-under-par 66 to take a one-shot lead over the crowded chasing pack shared by overnight leader Sean O' Hair of the US, American Brett Wetterich and Swede Fredrik Jacobson.

Sean aggregates seven-under 133 while the chasing trio totals six-under 134 after two rounds.
