Jatinder bags bronze to give India 10 Olympic qualification point

New Delhi, June 23 (UNI) Jatinder Pal of Punjab Armed Police helped India garner 10 valauble Olympic qualification points by bagging the bronze medal in the International FAJR Judo Championships held at Tehran, Iran.

A seven-member Indian men Judo team participated in the two-day international event held on June 21 and 22 at the Iranian capital but the lone medal came from Jatinder Pal in the below 100 kg weight category.

The Championship assumes importance as it was one of the Qualifying event for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The Judo Federation of India (JFI) will be fielding teams in all the qualifying events of JUA to ensure maximum points for Olympic qualification.
