Japan outplay Indian eves in junior Fed Cup
Kuala Lumpur, May 11 (UNI) Japan blanked India 3-0 in a pool D' rubber of the Asia-Oceania Junior Fed Cup under-16 tennis tournament at the National Tennis Centre here.
Such was the Japanese domination that the Indians could manage to win just eight games in all in three matches.
The seventh-seeded Indian team, however, qualified as the second team from the pool for the knock-out, and will face the third-seeded Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals.
In other quarterfinals, the top-seeded Australia will be challenged by the sixth-seeded Indonesia, the fourth-seeded Thailand will meet the eighth-seeded Korea while Japan will face a tricky opponent in the fifth-seeded China.
