It will be best ever National Games: Kalmadi

Ranchi, Feb 11 (PTI) The 34th edition of the NationalGames, starting tomorrow after facing several postponements,will be the best ever, Indian Olympic Association presidentSuresh Kalmadi asserted here today.

"It was much delayed. But the delay has been worthwhile,"Kalmadi told reporters announcing that the Games this timewill go as per schedule tomorrow.

Kalmadi also said the core team for the London Olympics2012 will be picked from the National Games.

"This is going to be the first trial for the LondonOlympics 2012. We will pick the core team here and then wewill send them for coaching camps," he said.

Giving full credit to the Jharkhand Olympic Association,Kalmadi said the hosts have developed world classinfrastructure.

"This is the best infrastructure I''ve seen anywhere inthe country and everything including the Games village at onevenue. This is going to be the largest National Games everheld. Jharkhand government has provided all the support andI''m sure this is going to be very good.

"This is a world class infrastructure. I''ve never seen itbefore that everything is located at one place. I have seenthe arrangements in Jamshedpur also, those were also veryimpressive," Kalmadi said.
