Italian police request more time to hold teenager
ROME, Feb 20 (Reuters) Italian prosecutors have requested more time to hold a 17-year-old in custody as part of the investigation into the death of a policeman at a Serie A match in Sicily earlier this month.
The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been in custody since February 8. He has not been charged.
He was arrested for aggression towards a public official following the rioting that broke out at Catania's match with Palermo on Feb. 2, claiming the life of Italian policeman Filippo Raciti.
All soccer was suspended for a week after the killing and then only stadiums which met new security standards were allowed to open to the public.
