Iran XI defeat Army XI

Kannur, Apr 14 (UNI) Iran XI today defeated Army XI, New Delhi (2-1) in a Group B league match of the Nayanar Gold Cup football tournament here.

For Iran XI, Majid Nowrouzi scored goals in the 82nd and 88th minute while Army XI's Ngernilal scored the lone goal in 46th minute.

Though the Army XI played much defensively initially, during the second half the defence withered and paved way for the Iran XI to score two goals.

In tomorrow's match FC, Dinamo, Nigeria would take on Viva, Kerala.
