IOCL trounces OIL, clinches 27th PSPB Inter Unit TT title

Rajkot, Feb 3 (UNI) Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) trounced Oil India Limited (OIL) 3-0 to clinch the 27th PSPB Inter Unit Table Tennis Tournament championship at the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) indoor stadium here.

In men's category, Soumyadeep Roy of IOCL beat Anal Kashyap of OIL 12-10, 11-5 and 11-5, while Sarath Kamal (IOCL) defeated S Saha (OIL) 11-4, 11-6 and 11-7.

S Raman of IOCL also beat Zubin Kumar of OIL 11-3, 14-12 and 11-9.

In individual event of men's qualifying round of quarter finals, Subham Chaudhary of ONGC defeated Satish Patel of IPCL 11-9, 11-7, 7-11 and 11-8.

In second quarter final of individual event, Arunabha Ganguly of ONGC beat Kalpesh Thakkar of IPCL 11-5, 11-3 and 11-7.

Rajiv Ghai of IOCL defeated Subhadeep Das of ONGC in third quarter final of individual event 11-4, 12-10, 9-11 and 11-8, while in fourth quarter final of individual event, Devesh Karia of OIL beat S amaswami of HPCL by 10-12, 11-4, 11-4 and 11-3.

In women's category, BPCL emerged victorious as it had won all the three matches, defeating its rivals OIL, IOCL and ONGC. With this, it has secured eight points.
