Internet not TV to screen England Vs Ukraine World Cup qualifier

London, Oct.5 (ANI): England's World Cup qualifier in Ukraine on Saturday will be the country's first ever competitive match to be screened exclusively live on the internet.

Fans wanting to watch the game will have to go online and fork out four pounds after TV companies decided not to bid for the rights, reports Sky Sports.

Setanta had originally bought the rights to England's group games, but when the Irish broadcaster collapsed they reverted to international agency Kentaro.

After weeks of talks Kentaro has now decided on the the live pay-per-view internet option.

Television is going through a real crisis at the moment and the internet is looking increasingly attractive.

Kentaro managing director Peter Silverstone hailed the development as a "landmark" for sports broadcasting.

"We feel this is the most viable way of delivering an England match direct to the fans," he said.

England has already qualified for the World Cup finals after winning all of its previous group stage matches. (ANI)
