Inter-varsity baseball championship begins in Kashmir

Srinagar, 0ct 19 (UNI) The third All India Inter-University baseball championship kicked off here today, the first major tournament of its kind in Jammu and Kashmir.

Nearly 1000 players and officials of about 20 varsities are taking part in the tournament, being organised by Kashmir University in collaboration with the Baseball Federation of India under the auspices of Association of Indian Universities.

State Health and Medical Education Minister Mangat Ram Sharma inaugurated the championship at Kashmir University grounds.
