Injured Vaughan to miss England's next match

SYDNEY, Jan 17 (Reuters) A hamstring tear has ruled England captain Michael Vaughan out of Friday's tri-series one-day international against Australia in Brisbane.

Vaughan suffered the injury while fielding in England's three-wicket win over New Zealand in Hobart yesterday.

England released a statement before the team boarded their flight to Brisbane on Wednesday saying Vaughan would miss the next match against Australia but would remain with the squad for further reassessment in the next 48 hours.

Vaughan, 32, has only just returned to the England fold after two operations on his right knee. He missed more than a year of international cricket including the Ashes tests but was recalled for the triangular one-day series after passing a fitness test.
