Injured toe fails to stop McMillan from training

GROS ISLET, St Lucia, March 15 (Reuters) New Zealand batsman Craig McMillan took part in a light training session today despite badly injuring the big toe of his right foot just 24 hours earlier.

McMillan, however, sat out a soccer game and remains a doubt for their key World Cup Group C game against England tomorrow.

''He seems to be walking alright. They won't name the team until tomorrow. The nets will only count someone in not out,'' New Zealand spokesman John Durning said.

Fast bowler Mark Gillespie has already been ruled out of the game as he recovers from a numb bowling arm but a decision on McMillan is expected before play tomorrow.

Batsman Peter Fulton, who broke a little finger in last Friday's warm-up win over Sri Lanka, looks set to be available for selection.
