Indo-Pak snooker to be played in India

Lahore, June 14 (UNI) The jinxed Indo-Pak snooker Test series, which was twice postponed due to various reasons, will be held in India later this year, Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) vice-president Ravi Tandon said.

''Although we have a tight schedule in the second half of the year, we have planned to host the Indo-Pak Test series before the end of the year. The decision in this regard was taken in the BSFI executive committee meeting earlier this month,'' Tandon said on the sidelines of 23rd Asian Snooker Championship in Karachi.

''The venue of this year's series will either be Indore or New Delhi. The dates of the series will be finalised in consultation with the functionaries of the Pakistan Billiards&Snooker Association,'' he added.

He hinted that India and Pakistan may face each other more frequently on the green baize.

''The BSFI as well as the PBSA are considering having three events every year. The snooker Test series is already there. Now we are assessing the possibilities of also having a triangular snooker series in which a third team should also be participating. The third team could be Sri Lanka, the UAE or Bahrain.

''Then we are also interested in launching a bilateral billiards series between the two neighbouring countries whose cueists enjoy the most cordial of relations,'' Tandon added.
