Indo-Pak friendly wrestling bouts held in Jalandhar

Jalandhar, Apr 2 (UNI) Indian wrestlers had a field day in the friendly bouts between India and Pakistan here this evening.

Indian grapplers won four out of five bouts. Arjuna Awardee Randhir Singh Dhira defeated his Pakistani counterpart Mohammad Imran in the third and final round, similarly Kamaljeet, Hardeep and Bhupinder defeated Mohammad Shahid, Mohammad Javed and Goga Pehelwan respectively. While Pakistan lone winner Pappu Pehelwan from Lahore defeated Dilbag Singh in the third round.

Without referring to cricket, international wrestler and Pakistan coach Abdul Majeed said,''If India and Pakistan promote local games like wrestling and kabbadi and play more friendly matches with each others. One day they could be world champions.'' On the Indo-Pak relations, he said,''He had visited many countries in the world but never received a reception like the one in India.

Coming to India is like moving to another home.'' UNI
