India's early exit very disappointing: Australia Coach
St Peter's, Antigua, Mar 28 (UNI) Australia coach John Buchanan has expressed his disappointment at the early exit of India from the Cricket World Cup.
''Yes from the point of view of the World Cup, India's early exit is extremely disappointing,'' he told reporters after the Australia-West Indies Super Eight league match was called off here yesterday due to persistant rain.
''India and Pakistan are two talented sides which provide lot of excitement in the One-Day Internationals, and their ouster in the first round hurts,'' the Australian coach added.
Buchanan further said absence of the two Asian cricketing giants from the mega event means less excitement for their fans as they are considered two of the strongest teams in the limited version of the game, but hastened to add that ''This does not mean that I am showing any disrespect to those who have qualified at their cost.'' ''All the teams who have qualified for the Super Eights played good cricket and that is why they made it,'' he said, adding, ''but as a coach I am glad that they (India and Pakistan) have not qualified.''
