Indians put worst foot forward at PGA Championship
Tulsa, Oklahoma, Aug 10 (UNI) Indians put their worst foot forward at the PGA Championship with Jeev Milkha Singh and Daniel Chopra both carding a horrendous six-over 76 for tied 103rd spot, and Jyoti Randhawa withdrawing due to fever on the day one of final Major of the year.
Jeev started off well amid gusting wind at the Southern Hills Country Club, firing in two birdies as against a bogey to make the turn at one-under.
However, the back nine proved disastrous to say the least as the Chandigarh pro dropped seven strokes, including a triple bogey on par-four 12th and par-four 18th, on his backward journey.
A tenth tee starter, Chopra also fumbled towards the end making bogeys galore on his front nine.
Both Jeev and Chopra will need to dig in deep in the second round so as to stay put for the weekend action.
Meanwhile little-known Graeme Storm of England stole the limelight from the who's who of golf, carding a superb five-under 65 to open up a two stroke lead. Defending champion Tiger Woods also lost the plot in the second half of his game, ending the day at tied 23rd with one-over 71.
