Indian XI wins inaugural tie
Lucknow, Apr 6 (UNI) Indian XI Lucknow won the inaugural tie of the second R D Bhardwaj memorial under-25 cricket tournament defeating Millenium Sports Club, Delhi by a wicket here today.
At the K D Singh Babu stadium, the local team opted to field after winning the toss, which paid dividend when Delhi's opener Nirvesh fell early. With the help of a late innings burst by Nagendra Das (24) they mustared 84 runs.
Chasing a victory target of 85 runs, Lucknow's team too started badly losing their first wicket without their scoreboard.
Jitendra Saroj (4/19) and Piyush (3/14) were the main wicket takers for the Delhi team.
