Indian shooters 'misfiring' run continues at ISSF World Cup

Sydney, May 2 (UNI) Indian shooters continued to misfire at the ISSF World Cup here, as both Annu Raj Singh and Shweta Chaudhary failed to make it to the finals of the women's 25m sports pistol event.

Annu finished the best among the Indians shooters yesterday, securing 26th position with a score of 570 with 285 in both Precision and Rapid stage of the event, while fellow compatriot Shweta Chaudhary finished 31st with a score of 568 (290+278). The third Indian in the fray Sonia Rai could only manage a score of 539 (283+256) to finish a disapponting 49th in the field of 50-shooters.

Meanwhile, in the Minimum Qualifying Section (MQS) of the event, Anisa Sayyed shot a score of 563 (279+284).

The gold in this event was won by Chen Ying of China who scored 791.4 (585+206.4), silver went to Japan's Fukushima Michiko with a score of 758.7 (584+201.7), while Maruskova Lenka of Czech won the bronze with 784.8 (582+202.8).
