Indian pugilists win six more Gold in YMCA boxing
New Delhi, Feb 2 (UNI) Indian pugilists had mixed fortunes, taking lion's share of Gold in sub-junior section but shared honours in juniors to add six more Gold on the final day of the 10th YMCA International Boxing Championships here today.
Balvinder (60 kg), Anil Kumar (66 kg) and Sunil Ola (70 kg) won one sided contests against Nursahant Pazziyev (Turkmenistan), Mousa Jaffar (Iraq) and Meret Myrat Sarbazav (Turkmenistan) respectively to walk away with three Gold while Ablayev Nursultan of Kazakhstan beat Mauritius' Olivier for Gold in the 80 kg category in today's only final round sub-junior bout which did not feature any Indian.
In the junior section, India's domination was challenged effectively with Niamedshayem (Turkmenistan), Baimalov Husan (Kazakhstan) and Davletov (Kazakhstan) pocketing Gold after beating Indian rivals Amit, Suresh and Baljeet in 64 kg, 69 kg and 91+ kg respectively.
However, Sitender (75 kg) and Parmoj (81 kg) defeated Kazakh rivals Seidalliyev and Tulkenov to increase India's Gold tally while Naresh beat compatriot Sunny Tokas for Gold in 91 kg category.
