Indian jrs slam Poland 9-0 in eight nation tourney

Chennai, Aug 7 (UNI) The Indian juniors were off to a flying start outplaying Poland in their opening match by nine goals without reply in the eight nation tournament at Moncheneladbach in Germany today.

According to IHF secretary K Jyothikumaran, India topped their spectacular win with a superb performance from Diwahar Ram, who scored six goals and also registered the first hat-trick in the tournament.

Baljit Singh Chandi, Jagwant Singh and Chennaiah scored a goal each to complete the tally.

The Indian juniors are placed with Spain, Germany and Poland in their pool.

The juniors would take on Spain in their next match tomorrow.
