Indian fans root for South Africa
Beausejour, St Lucia, Apr 25 (UNI) Indian fans threw their collective weight behind South Africa against defending champions Australia in the second semifinal of the World Cup here today.
India might have been long ousted from the Cup but hundreds who are still here together with 400 odd, who came by the chartered flight Air India flight from Mumbai, are rooting for the Proteas.
''Australia's domination has become too monotonous for an event like this. I hope that South Africa win because they and Sri Lanka seems to be the only two sides that can stop them,'' said D M Iqbal from Bangalore who came here to support the Proteas.
He was supported by D R Krishna Kumar from Hyderabad. This man in his sixties would support anyone who can stop the Aussie juggernaut.
''They (Aussies) have become arrogant and I would definitely support South Africa. They are good team,'' said Prakash Bharadwaj, who also came from Mumbai spending nearly Rs 3 lakh for 15 day-trip.
