Indian eves open account, defeat Aussies in Volleyball Championship
Bangkok, May 11 (UNI) India beat Australia to win its first match in the 6th Asian Youth Girls' Volleyball Championship underway in Thailand.
Swetha Nagaraju scored 13 points in the 25-19, 25-21, 25-20 win over the Aussies yesterday.
India had lost to Japan a day earlier, slumping to the bottom of the round-robin of the championship. The Indian win has sent Australia to the bottom of the rankings.
Japan, yet to drop a set, beat Sri Lanka yesterday.
