India trounce Iran in Asian Jr squash; meets Malaysia in semis

Chennai Feb 8 (UNI) India blanked Iran 3-0 in their final group match and topped the group in the Asian Junior Squash Championship at Hong Kong today.

The Indian boys repeated the performance of their earlier match against Korea by winning all three matches in straight sets, an SRFI release said here.

India, placed in Pool C would meet second seeded and world number three Malaysia.

'All the boys have worked very hard and we are ready to upset fancied Malaysia in our semifinal tomorrow evening,' said National Coach Cyrus Poncha.

India bt Iran 3-0 (Sandeep Jangra bt Navid Sabet 9-3, 9-0, 9-2, Harinderpal Singh bt Mohd Hossein Nadoushan 9-5, 9-7, 9-5, Parth Sharma bt Mohd Reza Sadeghpour 9-6, 9-1, 9-7.
