India survives a scare from Belgium

Chennai, Jan 28 (UNI) Up 1-0 in the series, India survivied a splendid fightback to edge out Belgium 3-2 scoring a 2-0 lead winning the third test here today at the Astro Turf Stadium.

It was Belgium who stole a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute through a field goal by Charles Eandeweght. India equalised after forcing several moves in the 33rd minute when Raghunath deflected the ball in at close range.

In the second half, India forced a 2-1 lead when Dilip Tirkey converted a penalty corner in the 40th minute.

But Belgium equalised again in the 63rd minute scoring another field goal through Jerome Dekeyser. However, India prevailed when Rajpal Singh reverse flicked the ball in a counter in 67th minute.
