India static, other Asian countries consoliodate positions

New Delhi, June 19 (UNI) India continued to languish at the 13th spot even as three Asian countries consolidated their positions in the latest women's world hockey rankings issued by FIH.

There were no major changes at the top of the ladder with world champions The Netherlands still at numero uno position, followed by Argentina, Australia and Germany.

China, Champions Challenge winner at Baku on Sunday, remain fifth while runners-up Korea climbed two places from tenth to eighth.

Japan, at sixth, are the third Asian team in the top ten.

England also entered top ten and are now ranked ninth while Champions Challenge hosts Azerbaijan improved their ranking from the 18th to 15th position, according to information received here today.
