India start champions challenge campaign against NZ
New Delhi, Jun 16 (UNI) Former champions India will take on New Zealand in the lung opener of the six-nation Champions Challenge Cup to be held in Boom, Belgium from June 23 to July 1.
Defending champions Argentina besides England, New Zealand, Japan and hosts Belgium are the other countries taking part in the event.
The tournament traditionally features the teams ranked 7th-12th in the world as determined by finishes in the most recent Olympic Games (and Olympic Qualifying Tournament) or World Cup (and World Cup Qualifier).
In addition to an automatic spot for the host nation, the tournament field also includes the team ranked sixth and last at the previous Champions Trophy.
