India placed a lowly ninth, B'desh seventh in Maruti Suzuki ratings

New Delhi, May 11 (UNI) A first round exit from the recently concluded World Cup took a heavy toll on Team India's rankings as Rahul Dravid's men slipped to a lowly ninth spot in the latest Maruti Suzuki ODI ratings.

With 38 points in their kitty, India are ahead of also-rans Kenya, Ireland and Zimbabwe.

Western neighbours Pakistan who put up an equally disastrous performance, if not more, in the Caribbean are marginally better at eighth with 40 points while the team that suprised them all by advancing to the super eights, Banglandesh (42 points), is placed seventh.

World Champions Australia are predictably the run-away leaders with 98 points while runner-ups Sri Lanka, eight points off the pace, are second. South Africa, who managed to reach the semi-final of the showpiece event, are third with 81 points.

The Aussie and Lankan cricketers also dominate the bowling and batting charts. As many as four Australian batsmen and three bowlers feature in the top ten lists. None of the Indian batsmen, bowlers or all-rounders has been able to make it to the list of the top ten bowlers and batsmen rankings.

Dominating Aussie bat, Mathew Hayden tops the batting list in ODI rankings with 188 points. Just seven points behind him is the Aussie captain, Ricky Ponting with 181 points. Jacques Kallis (176 points) is placed third in the list.

Spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan leads the list of bowlers with 194 points. He is six points clear of Australian left hand bowler Nathan Bracken (188 points) who is at number two position. New Zealand bowling spearhead Shane Bond (184 points) completes the top three.
