India, Pak pitted in same group in Twenty20 World Cup

Johannesburg, Mar 20 (UNI) India have been placed alongside arch-rivals Pakistan in the same group for the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup to be played in South Africa in September this year.

The two Subcontinent powerhouses are in the Group D with Scotland being the third team. In all, 12 teams are participating in the tournament to be played in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban from September 11 to September 24.

Hosts South Africa and West Indies are in Group A with Bangladesh while Australia and England are in Group B with Zimbabwe.

Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Kenya form the composition of Group C.

Draw: Group A: South Africa, West Indies, Bangladesh.

Group B: Australia, England, Zimbabwe.

Group C: New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Kenya.

Group D: Pakistan, India, Scotland.
