India beat Italy in three-nation tourney

New Delhi, Aug 4 (UNI) India overpowered Italy 1-0 in the double leg three nation Women hockey tournament being held in Bra,Italy.

India had lost to host Italy 1-3 in the inaugural match of the tournament and then played a 2-2 draw with Russia in their second match.

According to information received here, India gave better display against Italy in the second leg of the tournament defeating the host by a solitary goal scored by Ritu Rani in the 61st minute.

Italy beat Russia 2-0 in the first leg of the tournament.
