India 63 for 3 at lunch after England Lions decl at 413/8

London, July 14 (UNI) India's top-order batsman failed to tackle the England Lions' bowlers, collapsing to 63 for three at lunch after the hosts declared at 413 for eight at the County Ground, Chelmsford today.

Senior pros Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly avoided further embarrassment for the visitors as they remained not out on 37 and 14 respectively.

Tendulkar did not show signs of wilting under the pressure of captaincy as he scored at a brisk 37, taking only 45 balls, studded six hits to the fence.

India got off to the worst possible start, with Graham Onion bringing tears to the hosts' eyes by scalping opener Wasim Jaffer (1) and VVS Laxman for a third ball duck in the very first over.

Jaffer played across and was plumb leg before, while number three batsman Laxman was squared up with a perfectly pitched delivery that he edged to the wicketkeeper.

Dinesh Kaarthick seemed to be unlucky as he was adjudged caught behind off the bowling of Chris Board although the ball seemed to come off his pads.
