Kolkata, Mar 14 (UNI) Indian Football Association (IFA) today ordered an inquiry into last night's freak fire at IFA's accounts office here.

''I have asked the detective department to look into the matter.

The fire reduced to ashes Rs one lakh in cash and most of the financial documents.

An IFA caretaker noticed the fire in the back-office while he was closing the first floor gate and immediately called Mr Dutta, who in turn informed the police and fire brigade.

Mr Dutta, who was on the spot, said he had left the office at around 2030 hours last night along with other office bearers. But accountant Kaushik Chanda worked till late.

Asked aout a sabotage angle, Mr Dutta said though he was not sure, he apprehended it as the accounts audit was to be done today.
