I am not going to resign: Chappell

New Delhi, Apr 2 (UNI) Stating that his future at Team India's helm was now in the hands of the BCCI, beleaguered coach Greg Chappell today ruled out putting in his papers.

The board will meet in Mumbai on April 6 and 7 to review India's debacle in the World Cup and is expected take some tough decisions.

Refusing to give in to the calls for his resignation, Chappell told television channels that there was no question of his stepping down since his contract would expire after the World Cup.

He said he would submit his report to the BCCI on April 6 and await the decision of the Board on his future.

''My future is in the hands of the BCCI. But, I will not put in my papers,'' he said.

Bitter at people baying for his head over India's World Cup debacle, coach Greg Chappell said some people in the cricket establishment were trying to tarnish his image.

He, however, did not name any one or elaborate on his assertion.

He also disclosed that he had completed his report for submission to the Board and said he did not blame any member of the team for India's early exit from the World Cup.

Chappell also denied having had any communication with the BCCI in connection with the attitude of senior players.

A section of the media had reported that five senior players had not shown respect to the team management and had attitude problems.
