HSAA to organise open athletic competitions on Olympic Day

Chandigarh, Jun 19 (UNI) To mark International Olympic Day, which falls on June 23, Haryana State Athletic Association (HSAA) is organising an open athletic competitions on June 22 and 23 at Jatwar village in Ambala district.

HSAA Secretary H S Bhadu informed that events which will be conducted on the occasion are 10km mass run for men, 5km mass run for boys and girls, 3km mas run for veterans, 100m, 400m, 1500m, 5000m, 10000km R Walk, shotput, discus throw, long jump and triple jump for men and women.

Mr Bhadu, who is also the director of Haryana Olympic Association, said that to mark the day, Haryana Olympic Association is also conducting kabaddi (men and women), tug of war (men and women), cultural programmes such as ragini, folk songs etc.

The main attraction of the event will be a exhibition match of kabaddi between Punjab and Haryana at the time of opening ceremony on June 22.
