Hooda gives aid to ailing Haryan woman boxer

Chandigarh, Nov 18 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has announced financial help of Rs one lakh for the treatment of Megha Bhardwaj, a budding boxer from the state who is suffering from cancer.

The CM sanctioned the amount on the request of Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Kiran Choudhry.

Megha Bhardwaj, a student of class XI-Non-Medical of Maharaja Agrasain Girls Senior Secondary School, Sirsa, has been suffering from round cell and lung cancer for the last one and half year.

Her family has not been able to meet the expenses for her treatment.

Choudhry said here today that due to her exceptional qualities in the field of academic, cultural and sports, the State Government decided to help Megha on sympathetic grounds. She had won many laurels in various boxing championships at district, state and national level competitions.

The Minister thanked the Chief Minister for helping Megha and wished her speedy recovery.
